2022 New Year, New beginnings

Our core business is structured around supporting other business / companies to transport goods on there behalf on a sameday basis i.e. collection and delivery of goods on the sameday. This means businesses / companies that we work on behalf of do not need to worry about expenses such as vehicle lease, insurance, fuel, tax, wages, repairs etc. All they have to do is to book us and we will take care of the rest. We do occasionally transport goods for members of the public however we do not like to Co-load items such as paintings that could be worth a lot of money with other items, we prefer to transport goods on a job by job basis therefore we minimize the risk of the goods we transport becoming damaged, however this means our prices reflect this but it also means we have had a great history of the goods we transport be delivered in the condition they were when we collected them. This also means that unlike the likes of DPD, Yodel etc. The goods we transport are handled by several different people at several different depots and transported by several different vehicles throughout the UK, we collect and deliver the goods generally with the same vehicle & person who collected it unless there are access issues. I hope this has explained things a little for everyone. Stay safe and take care of yourselves.

Recently our sameday courier service has been needed in different ways to help distribute medical equipment from manufacturers in Cornwall and Devon to add medical professionals to work safely. Some of our regular customers had to temporarily shut down at the start of the Covid 19 crisis which meant we had to find other ways to be able to operate, hence we are at present only concentrating on commercial transport and not domestic jobs such as furniture moves which means we would have to enter a customers property, we are also at present not operating double manned on vehicles whilst until the Covid 19 crisis is over, thankfully some of our customers have now reopened and are running again. Our vehicles are currently carrying anti viral wipes, hand sanitiser, gloves etc our drivers will keep to the current 2 meter social distancing regulation where at all possible. We would like to thank all our loyal customers for there on going support as this month we will enter our tenth year of business. Our website now has a portal to our facebook page where you see what is going on with us as jobs happen, the portal is at the bottom of each page of our website. Stay safe and well everyone.

Despite the current situation regarding the Covid 19 pandemic, our small business is still open. Like all the businesses in the country we have had to furlough some staff, adjust our procedures, adapt our working hours however we are still operating a courier service in Cornwall. We would like to thank all our customers for there support and we look forward to being able to continue to work as a key worker during this time of uncertainty, we will always try to support front line key worker groups such as supply chains and the NHS if the need arises, however we will look at each request on a job by job basis and assess whether it would be safe enough for our staff to commit to any work. Thank you all for your on going support and we hope that this situation will be over soon and we look forward to getting back to normal as soon as possible. Stay safe and well everyone.

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read this blog. I want to talk about couriers / man and van people and insurance, in recent years insurance companies have narrowed what couriers can carry for insurance purposes. For instants we used to occasionally transport motorbikes or quad bikes however now we can not unless we pay a lot more insurance costs which then makes this work worthless, small removals is another example of this. So when a 'Man and van' or indeed a 'Courier' says no problem i can do that and they give you a cheap quote, my advice would be check there insurance documents first, check any and all feedback for them and also see how long they have been trading for. Any legitimate Courier wont mind you asking questions and ask for a copy of there insurance, you will usually find if that company can't commit to the job due to insurance grounds that they may recommend another specialist. Especially as this week we found out that a well know Courier insurance broker and insurance company had gone into liquidation which has now caused problems as they insured a lot of couriers nationwide however they paid out more money than they could cover in insurance premiums. So please be careful and remember if something looks to good to be true it generally is and in case you are wondering we have just renewed our insurances for 2020 which includes up to £50000 of Goods in Transit cover.

Well the start of 2020 has been extremely busy, we have had some new customers and the return of some old customers already this year which is great. Our vehicles have been already been to several new places such as Kent, Yorkshire, Dorset etc aswell as the usual local locations throughout the southwest. We have also joined the Same day Courier Network aswell in order to further assist other like minded courier companies like ours with work they may need help with in Cornwall and Devon. We hope that this year will continue to be a good one for us and our colleagues within the sameday courier industry, it'll be interesting to see where else we can Kernow this year. The picture above was of a large stainless steel and glass roof light that we successfully delivered to the Driffield area in Yorkshire on Monday, it was quite a load indeed being 3.6m long by just over 2m wide.

2020 is a very special year for us indeed, not only is it a New year and decade it will also be the 10th anniversary of Kernow Delivery service Ltd in June. In this time we had changed a lot to try and meet the needs of our customers and this will carry on but we have also seen a lot of changes, some good people who we were proud to help and support that were doing really well and sadly couldn't continue to our own business close to the edge a few times due to big companies going under, however we are still here doing the best we can for all our customers. I would like to say a very big thank you to all our friends, family, customers and colleagues for all your ongoing custom and support since we started up and i hope we can continue to grow and do the best work we can for you. www.kernowdelivery.co.uk

It's nearly the time of year when businesses and consumers need there goods transported but is the person you choose to transport your goods a experienced fully insured courier. This time of year couriers just seem to appear from literally no where although this is good to keep goods moving please check that they are indeed fully insured, check to see if there insurance covers both there selves and the public, have they declared that they are using there vehicle for hire and reward do they carry suitable goods in transit insurance. There will be a lot of genuine temporary couriers around from now until January 2020 but be careful of the ones that will transport goods for a 'really cheap price' as there is usually a reason why it's cheap. Check to see how lg they have been in business perhaps feedback, there experience in handling similar goods, businesses that are established may not be the cheapest but they ensure your goods are handled correctly and are taken care of. Any genuine courier will not mind you asking them for insurance info, feedback etc but i bet the ones that are not so equal will mind.

When you search for a sameday courier what comes up top in your search? I'm guessing you will find a glossy ad for a so called national sameday courier company which are based locally to you, well did you know that most of these companies aren't, sure some are in your locality but are franchised, some just say they are near your locality but all say they can get your job done, some even have a local phone number but try looking for the address of the office i bet it's miles away perhaps even in a different county. That's great but did you know that smaller companies like ours can be far cheaper, have more respect for your business situation and can slot in where and when you need it, perhaps that is why smaller sameday courier businesses like ours usually end up doing the jobs that the bigger so called national sameday courier company take on knowing they can't do it there-selves. So just a thought for you, bigger is not always better sometimes the smaller businesses can be a far better fit both for price and availability, even if we are not your first choice there are smaller companies out there which like us have links to other like minded fully insured professional sameday courier businesses. Thanks for reading this blog.
